Luxury Lawn Installation in Rochester

Our customer, based in Rochester, Kent, was looking for a durable yet low-maintenance solution after introducing two puppies into the family.

The back garden’s lawn was already showing signs of high usage, with three children running around playing on it, which led to muddy foot- and pawprints being traipsed through the house.

Other than the garden being a slightly awkward shape which made wastage unavoidable, a standard installation process was followed to install our 40mm Luxury Lawn artificial grass. As you can see from the pictures, this made for a beautiful outdoor spot enjoyable for all members of the family, whether they had two legs or four.

The new artificial turf perfectly complements the garden’s bright flowers around the circular lawn. Apart from the odd sweep and a quick hosing down after the dogs have done their business, it requires little maintenance—a perfect all-around solution for their needs.

The Problem

This rear lawn was very high maintenance due to the amount of surrounding greenery, which created a constant flow of debris.

The addition of two puppies and an already high footfall (from three children) quickly killed the remainder of the grass, leading to muddy paws and a muddy home.

The Solution

For a circular area like this, wastage is inevitable, but luckily, we could influence the size of the circle to reduce the wastage; we agreed on a 6m diameter so that we could use a 4m and 2m roll of grass.

Due to having dogs and children, as well as lots of plants, hardwearing and easy-to-clean were a priority. We opted for our 40mm Luxury Lawn as it is one of our hardest-wearing grasses and will still look great year-round, despite the presence of dogs and kids. Because of the luxury and vibrant olive-green colour, the newly installed artificial grass looks great in well-planted gardens with bright flowers.

The Method

We followed our standard installation process, whereby our team removed and disposed of the existing grass before continuing to:

The Process

Grade the area to even levels and falls.
Supply, lay, and consolidate an ALC special granite aggregate blinding layer.
Supply and lay a layer of heavy-duty woven weed membrane.
Supply and install artificial grass to the area, securing around the perimeter with six-inch galvanised fixing pins and seaming all joints were required with artificial grass jointing tape and weatherproof polyurethane adhesive.
Supply ALC artificial grass infill sand and spread it with a mechanical rotary brush.
Clear all site rubbish leaving the site clean and tidy.

The Result

The finished result is a perfect circular lawn that fits perfectly within the well-planted garden. A quick leaf blow now and then quickly removes all the debris.

Dog mess is easy to remove from the surface using a garden trowel and then a little hose after in the affected areas, just for good measure.
